Joseph H. Pilates began developing his method of exercise at the beginning of this century XX. While he was alive, he created more than 500 exercises, based on a combination of body-mind, which initially seduced dancers and athletes, as a “secret” discipline.
It is a system of exercises that develop in the center of the body (abdomen, gluteus and low back), to create movements that provide flexibility and strength to the muscles. It requires concentration, good posture, proper oxygenation.
To practice these exercises will accomplished a body that can be defined as toned, slender, upright and flexible. And like any other physical activity, constancy results showed in about two or three months, when it begins a change in size.
It is recommended practice PILATES one hour twice a week, either flat or with special equipment.
